Launching the VeyoCreators Guild: Legal Protection for AI Artists
VeyoLabs becomes the first platform to offer guild-like IP protection and legal defence funds for creators using AI in their work.
Launching the VeyoCreators Guild
AI-generated content exists in a legal grey zone. Copyright law in most jurisdictions was written before generative AI existed. Enforcement is inconsistent. Creators are building businesses on a foundation with unclear legal protection.
The VeyoCreators Guild is our response. It is not a union. It is a membership-based legal protection framework for AI creators who need real IP defence, not just terms of service language.

The IP Problem for AI Creators
Three categories of legal risk face AI content creators currently:
1. Training data disputes. If a model was trained on copyrighted material, outputs may be challenged as derivative works. The legal precedent is still being established. Creators need counsel who understands both AI technology and IP law.
2. Output ownership challenges. Some jurisdictions' copyright frameworks require a human author to confer copyright. AI-generated work may not receive automatic protection. Proper registration and documentation of creative contribution is essential.
3. Infringement from third parties. As AI content becomes commercially valuable, infringement of AI creators' work by human imitators and by other AI systems is increasing. Creators need practical enforcement mechanisms.
The Guild addresses all three.
IP Registration
The Guild assists creators in documenting and registering their creative contributions to AI-generated works. This includes:
- Documentation of the creative decisions made in producing each work (prompt construction, model selection, curation, post-processing)
- Copyright registration filing with the relevant national authority
- Timestamped blockchain hash of each registered work (for proof of creation date)
- Maintenance of a creation audit trail
This documentation is the evidence base for any future IP claim.
The Legal Defence Fund
Guild Pro and Studio members can access the Legal Defence Fund when their registered works are infringed. The Fund covers:
- Solicitor fees for cease and desist letters and demand notices
- Filing fees for DMCA takedown procedures
- Costs of pursuing an infringement claim through mediation or court (up to the per-case cap)
The Fund does not cover: offensive IP claims against third parties without merit, claims related to works produced outside VeyoLabs, or disputes with VeyoLabs itself.
Joining
Every VeyoLabs Pro subscriber is automatically a Basic tier Guild member. No separate application is required.
Pro and Studio tier upgrades are available from your account dashboard under Guild Membership. Guild membership is non-exclusive — you can be a Guild member and a member of other creator organisations simultaneously.
The legal landscape for AI content is going to be defined in the next three to five years. The Guild exists to make sure that when it is defined, creators have had proper representation in the process.
